Silk knickers, tap pants, teddies, bras and bralets are accompanied by kimono tops, nightwear and eye masks. Both lingerie and sleepwear, Ayten’s garments blur the traditional boundaries between underwear and outerwear, with a style so beautiful and fluid, you will want to let people see them!
Ayten Gasson’s indulgent pieces, with scrumptious embellishments, are bought by those looking for a special treat; a refined gift, with an air of youthful, sensuous sophistication.
Ayten takes her inspiration from vintage designs, imbuing them with a sense of classic coquetry, mixed with a fresh palette of both vibrant jewel tones and delectable pastels.
The sheer enjoyment and delight wearing Ayten Gasson’s luxury silk designs causes means the brand has grown fast. You can find Ayten Gasson retailed in many of the world’s most luxurious boutiques, including Bordello and Tallulah, both in London, Merci Cherie in Germany, and Oh Baby in America. In 2004, Ayten had graduated from Central St Martin’s in print and began her career in lingerie by collaborating with Taboo boo to create an exclusive range of 50’s inspired printed silk lingerie for Selfridges.
Filled with enthusiasm for this new world of silk and vintage designs, Ayten began a collection based around gorgeous, graceful designs for sleeping and relaxing in. She pioneered the sleep bra in the UK, an item always recognized by French women as desirable for support and nocturnal allure. Her pieces are so beautiful that they rarely stay hidden for long though!
Ayten successfully sought funding from the Princes Trust, an organization established by the Prince of Wales in 1976 to help young people overcome barriers and set up their own businesses. Her first collection sold in London and across boutiques on the South Coast.
Since then Ayten Gasson has developed several signature styles of skirted and peek a boo knickers, kimono tops, teddies and slips, all whilst maintaining her firm commitment to using UK workers and UK suppliers. Her lace is sourced from the last remaining mills based in Nottingham, and she continues to explore vintage designs and traditional fabrics with an eye to ethical and sustainable sources.
Her delectable designs now grace stores across the globe, with seasonal collections and exclusive designs in selected department stores. Ayten Gasson pieces will be continuing to bring luxurious, enticing pleasure to women for many years to come.
